Branch-/Commit-Based Requirement

Limiting your dependencies’ updates to a specific version or a range of versions is probably the most common way to handle your dependencies.

A version-based requirement is suitable for cases when your dependencies are in production and get updated rapidly.

However, when we are in the development stage of the dependency package, a version-based requirement might cause headaches.

For example, if we checked out to a specific branch during development, we want to work with that specific branch without handling versioning.
